Fresh
maple syrup is truly one of the first signs of spring. And
what better way to celebrate than to attend the Warkworth
Maple Syrup Festival. Each year the community marks
the coming of spring with a fun-filled family weekend with
events to enjoy both at Sandy Flat Sugar Bush and the Village
of Warkworth in Ontario, Canada. In recent years the maple
syrup festival has attracted a wide range of visitors from
all over Ontario and even Canada and the world.
All
of the events and attractions that have made this fun and
tasty event so popular will be here. Sugarbush highlights
include horse drawn sleigh rides, maple syrup demonstrations,
free taffy on snow, tours, a log-sawing contest, snowshoe
races, plank races, step, clog and old-time square dancing,
nature trail walks, live old-tyme music and more. And of
course a trip to the sugarbush wouldn't be complete without
the taste of fresh 'hot-off-the grill' pancakes and sausages
smothered in our local award winning maple syrup. Enjoy
this treat served by the Warkworth Community Service Club,
which uses all the proceeds to support dozens of local community
organizations.
